Outdoor landscaping & backyard upgrades

Outdoor transformations designed for practical, beautiful everyday living.

We're a small, family-run team that builds backyards and front yards around Sydney. Most jobs are a mix of things: a deck, some paving, a retaining wall, new fencing, a pergola or a few outdoor features. We plan it all together, then build it ourselves.

What we do

A complete outdoor upgrade, planned properly from the start.

A good backyard isn't just new turf. It's getting the levels right, sorting out where the water goes, making it easy to walk through, and giving you somewhere you actually want to sit. We look at all of that before we start building.

We're builders, not gardeners. We don't do mowing or ongoing garden maintenance. We build the walls, paths, decks and structures that make a yard work.

What can be included in your landscaping makeover

Some people start with one thing, like a wall or a deck. Others want the whole yard done at once. Either is fine.

Complete Yard Redesign

We look at how you use the front yard, backyard or side passage, and rework the layout so it flows better. See our outdoor transformations.

Decking & Outdoor Living

Timber or composite decks for entertaining, family dinners or just a coffee in the morning.

Hardscaping & Pathways

Paving, steps, stepping stones, edging and gravel paths, so you're not walking through mud to get to the clothesline.

Retaining & Garden Beds

On a sloping block, a retaining wall turns the slope into flat, usable space. We build sleeper, block, sandstone and rendered walls and raised garden boxes.

Privacy & Boundaries

New fencing, slat screens and automatic gates for privacy and a neater look from the street.

Finishing Touches

Water features, lighting, turf and other outdoor features that make the space feel finished.

Common questions

Landscaping questions we get asked a lot

Straight answers to the things people ask us most.

How much does a retaining wall cost?

It really depends on the wall. Height, length, the material you choose, how much soil needs to come out, drainage, and how easy it is to get machinery and materials onto the site all change the price. That's why we don't give prices over the phone. We come out, measure up and give you a written quote.

Do I need council approval for a retaining wall in NSW?

Sometimes. It depends on how high the wall is, how close it is to the boundary, and the rules for your property. Some walls are allowed without approval and others need it, and taller walls may also need an engineer. Your local council or the NSW Planning Portal can tell you what applies to your property. If we think approval might be needed, we'll mention it when we quote.

What's the best material for a retaining wall?

There isn't one best material. It depends on the job. Concrete sleepers are popular because they're neat and don't rot. Block walls suit curves and bigger heights. Sandstone looks great with older homes, and rendered walls work well at the front of the house. We'll talk you through what suits your yard and your budget.

How long does a retaining wall last?

It depends mostly on the material and how well the drainage is done behind it. Concrete, block and stone walls generally outlast timber. Good drainage matters more than most people think: a lot of walls fail because water builds up behind them, not because of the wall itself.

How much does a backyard makeover cost?

It varies a lot. A new path and some turf is a very different job to new walls, a deck and fencing. The size of the yard, access, levels and materials all affect the price. Tell us what you'd like and we'll quote it properly after seeing the site. If you have a budget in mind, let us know and we'll suggest where it's best spent.

How long does landscaping take?

It depends on the size of the job, access, the materials and the weather. Rain in particular can hold things up. We'll talk through the expected timing when we quote.

Composite or timber decking: which is better?

Both are good, they just suit different people. Timber looks and feels natural and can be sanded back over the years, but it needs oiling to keep its colour. Composite doesn't need oiling or staining and won't splinter, but it costs more upfront and darker colours can get warm in full sun. More on our decking page.

Do I need council approval for a deck or pergola in NSW?

Some decks and pergolas can be built without approval, and some can't. It depends on size, height above the ground, how close they are to the boundary, and your property's zoning. Check with your council or the NSW Planning Portal before you start, and we're happy to talk it through when we quote.

How do you landscape a sloping backyard?

Usually by breaking the slope into flatter levels. That means retaining walls to hold the soil, steps to get between levels, and a plan for where the water goes when it rains. Done well, a sloping yard can end up with more usable space than a flat one. See our retaining walls page.

Is artificial turf worth it?

It can be, especially in shady spots where real grass struggles, small courtyards, or if you just don't want to mow. It stays green all year. On the other hand it gets hot in full sun and costs more to put in than real turf. We lay both, so we'll tell you honestly which makes more sense for your yard. More on artificial turf.
